Hawkeye: Custom Display Setup

The pages in HawkEye can be customised (or a new one created from a blank page) to display any instrument of choice. To edit a custom page:

  1. Right click in the button page
  2. Select edit

Or:

  1. Bring up the setting panel if collapsed
  2. Click on the “Page management” section
  3. Click on the “Edit” button

Once in the layout editor, new instruments from the tool box can be added to the page, as show below:

  1. In the tool box, press the left mouse button down on the instrument type
  2. Drag it across the layout editor grid
  3. Drop it by releasing the left mouse button.

Each instrument has a default size when dropped on the grid, depending on its type. However, to avoid any overlapping, its size will be adjusted automatically.

Other features are available in the layout editor:

  1. Click on this button to delete all the instruments from the page. It is also possible to delete only the selected component by pressing the “DELETE” key on the keyboard.
  2. Rename the page; the page name is displayed on the navigation bar, on the button that gives access to the page
  3. Copy the selected instrument. The selected instrument will be duplicated and dropped in the next available space.
  4. Save the current instrument configuration (position, size, colours) in a layout file. Upon clicking on this button, the user will be invited to browse the disk and select a directory to store the layout file.
  5. Load up a layout file into the page. A layout contains instrument placings for a single page.
  6. Right-click on an instrument to bring up the property inspector panel, and edit its graphical properties.
  7. Return to the live screen. Default channels will be updated to the new instruments added to the page.

Note that the selected component in the page is highlighted with a red contour; to select an instrument, simply click on it:
