Channel Config: Cal Check

Beginning in version 3.10.1.6 of HawkGUI the Cal Check feature can be used to verify the calibration settings of a channel config.

Setting up a Calibration Check

  1. Cal Group - used to group multiple channels together in for the cal check
  2. Cal Frequency (Hz) - the input frequency into the channel
  3. Cal Voltage (mV) - the input voltage into the channel
  4. Cal PF - the power factor of the input signal
  5. Cal Source - source of cal signal, external cal bus, internal sig gen and direct front panel inputs, or shunt
  6. Shunt Resistance - the resistor being switched in for checking bridge channels
  7. Autozero
  8. Expected EU - the expected engineering units
  9. Expected PF - the expected power factor
  10. Pass/Fail % - Percent allowed error defined by the user for the report
  11. Save Settings
  12. Calibration Check - button to start the calibration check

Calibration Screen

Once 'Calibration Check' is clicked, the user gets to choose the Cal Group to check. If there were any unsaved changes the user will be prompted to save those settings.

Select the Calibration Item or channel(s) to check, if the Calibration Item is highlighted when 'OK' is selected then all the channels in that Cal Item will be used otherwise one or more channels can be selected using the CTRL + Click method.

  1. Amplitude Reading - For each channel, the bar will be Red or Green showing the highest peak with the FFT computed by the calibration service. The Green signifies the channel is within the set calibration limits where Red signifies it is beyond the set limits. Once the user uses 'Capture Point' a lighter green bar will appear above the channel showing the captured point.
    • Channel 2 above has a limit of 0.1% vs 1% like the other channels
  1. Expected EU - Displays the expected EU set by the user on the configuration page.
  2. Capture Point - captures the calibration check point for all channels being displayed
  3. Accept Point - Accepts the captured point bringing up a prompt to end the calibration check or select a new calibration check item.
  4. Reject Point - Rejects the captured point allowing the user to recapture a point

Calibration Report

The calibration report screen displays the results of the calibration check, it gives the options to export to CSV, HTML, and open to browser where it can easily be saved to PDF.

From here 'OK' can be used to return back to the calibration check screen
