Aurora: Manoeuvre Creator (v3.9+)

To create a manoeuvre, first open Aurora Client. The first blue square button in the navigation bar is Manoeuvre Creator. Manoeuvre Creator is used to define manoeuvres which can later be post processed using Tornado then viewed in Data Viewer. The raw data for a manoeuvre may also be viewed through Raw Viewer.

Next, select the recording that the manoeuvre will be created in. This is done through the database tree. The database tree is a representation of the data accessible both locally as well as remotely. There are filtering capabilities at each of the following levels in order to more quickly access the desired recording:

To navigate through the database tree either Left-Click on the arrow or Double-Left-Click on the section you want expanded. Once a segment of data is selected manoeuvres can be created.

Remark 1: The Database Tree is unique and shared by all applications, but depending on the need of the application, it might be updated so that the last levels might be Configuration/Manoeuvre or Configuration/Recording/Segment.

Remark 2: When the cursor is positioned over a specific engine more details about that particular engine will be displayed in a hint window.

Opening a Data Segment

Once a segment has been selected the right hand section of the screen will display data from the segment. The manoeuvre review files are files at 10 Hz generated to give the user an overview of the data they are looking at. These files are generated for each channel at acquisition time or regenerated locally by manoeuvre review server if both missing locally and remotely.

Remark: By default up to 3 speed channels will be displayed in the plot. If no speed channels are available 3 other channels will be selected. To edit what channels are displayed click the following button. Up to 5 speed channels and 5 other channels can be selected by checking the box next to the desired channel.

Add Manoeuvre

Click "+ Manoeuvre" to create new manoeuvre.

To position the manoeuvre click on the plot roughly where the manoeuvre should be. 2 vertical lines signifying the start and end points of the manoeuvre will now be on the plot.

To further define these points more precisely either click and drag either the start/end boundary lines to the desired point on the plot or edit the 'Start Time'/'End Time' directly in the manoeuvre table below the plot.

Remark 1: The bars in the bottom of the plot which are blue are previously made manoeuvres and can not be edited in the time domain. Description can be changed. The red bar is the new manoeuvre being created.

Remark 2: You can also edit the other parameters of the manoeuvre by clicking in the different cells such as Type and Description. The row in red is the new manoeuvre currently being created.

Finally, commit the changes to database for the newly created manoeuvres by clicking the button on the right most side beneath the displayed recording.

Remark: Once a manoeuvre has been created in database, be aware that you won’t be able to delete the created manoeuvre or modify the start time/end time. Only the Description or Type parameter of an existing manoeuvre in database can be modified.
