Hawkeye: Order Track Plot
Order tracking is performed by the safety service, and is based on the safety FFT. User may display
- Amplitude vs time using the order track instrument.
- Amplitude v speed, phase vs speed and amplitude –phase in a polar representation using the Polar-Bode instrument.
Both instruments are available in the order tracking section of the layout editor tool box.
Order Track Instrument

- List of the orders currently being tracked (channel name, order number, tacho channel, amplitude and frequency). Note that is it possible to follow an order on different channels, as long as the channels have the same acquisition unit.
- Amplitude scale is configurable via the set gain popup menu option. Alternatively, user may click on the min / max scale, and edit the value directly.
- Time scale, configurable via the time base panel. Here the time base is relative, the newest value on the right edge of the graph is associated to time 0. Currently the graph has a history of 57 seconds.
- Right click popup menu, click on “Timebase” to access the time base panel
- Click on “Order” to access the engine order setup panel
- The order setup panel
- Click on “Add order” to add a new order
- List of the engine order to track. Setting “% Order” allows the user to specify the frequency bandwidth (as a percentage of the engine order frequency), centred on the order frequency, where we look for the maximum amplitude in the safety FFT.
- To delete an order.
- Click on the “Apply” button to start tracking the orders listed in the grid.
The user may change the time axis to show absolute time (the data time) instead of relative time:

The user may also switch to chart recorder mode: in this mode, we still display absolute time, but the axis tick marks remain on fixed times, and therefore move to the left, along with the data.
