How to Create a Loopback Adapter

To add a loopback adapter, click on the Windows start menu and type in “Device Manager.” Click on Device Manager and then right click on PC name at the top of the page and click "Add Legacy Hardware."

Then select to install hardware from a list.

  1. Select “Network Adapters.”
  2. Select the following.
  3. Manufacturer: Microsoft
  4. Network Adapter: 
    1. WIN 7: Microsoft Loopback Adapter
    2. WIN 10: Microsoft KM-TEST Loopback

Click “Next” until finished.
