Using HGL Installer
HGL Installation Guide
Set Up:
Before installing HGL Software please change the PC Name to “HGL-DEMO” and set up a Loopback adapter with the IP address to 172.16.1.1 and subnet mask 255.255.0.0. The Network name for this address will need to be “GREEN.” Additionally, please change your date/time settings so that the Region and Language Format is set to “English (United Kingdom).” The following steps will walk you through how to make these changes. Otherwise, make these changes and skip ahead to the “Installation” section.
Change PC Name:
Go to the Start menu and right-click on “Computer” and select “Properties.”

On the system page the pops up scroll to the following section concerning the computer name and select “Change Settings.”
The following window will pop up. Please select “Change” in order to rename the computer. Then enter the name “HGL-DEMO” for the computer name and select “OK.”

After changing the computer name, you will need
to restart the computer so that the change takes
effect.
Creating a Loopback Adapter:
To add a loopback adapter, click on the Windows start menu and type in “Device Manager.” Click on Device Manager and then right click on PC name at the top of the page. At this point the computer name should be “HGL-DEMO”

Then select to install hardware from a list.
Select
“Network Adapters.”
Select the following.
Manufacturer: Microsoft
Network Adapter: Microsoft Loopback Adapter
Click “Next” until finished.
Change IP Address of the Loopback Adapter:
Go to the start menu and select “Control Panel.”

On the screen that pops up select “Network and Sharing Center.” Then on the following screen select “Change adapter settings.”

Select your network you wish to use and right-click and select “Properties.” On the pop up screen click on “Internet Protocol Version 4” and click “Properties.”

On the following screen select “Use the following IP address:” and enter the IP information.
IP address: 172.16.1.1 and Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Then select “OK.”

Next, right-click on the network connection you just set up and select “Rename.” Rename the network connection to “GREEN.”

Regional Settings:
Go to the start menu and select “Control Panel.”

Select “Region and Language” and on the pop up screen change the format to “English (United Kingdom)” and select “OK.”

It’s important that the date/time appear in the correct format.
Installation:
Now you are ready to install HGL Software. Launch “HGL Installer.exe” found on the HGL Installer disc. The installer will launch two third party installers for Firebird and IBOConsole, which are necessary to run HGL Software.

Firebird:
Firebird will install first. IMPORTANT: When installing Firebird on the 'Select Additional Tasks' screen please ensure that 'Copy Firebird Client Library to <system> directory' is CHECKED.
Select “English” and click “OK.” On the following screen select “Next.”

On the next screen select “I accept the agreement” and then “Next.” On the four screens following the agreement, leave the default settings for full installation and select “Next.”

IMPORTANT: On the following screen ensure that “Copy Firebird client library to <system> directory?” is CHECKED as in the following graphic.

On the following screen select “Next.” On the last screen of the Firebird installation you may uncheck “After installation – What Next?” but please leave “Start Firebird Service” checked and select “Finish.”

IBOConsole:
Next IBOConsole will install. Leave all of the default settings and select “Next” on all screens. On the last screen you may uncheck “Launch IBOConsole.” It will not need to be running.
HGL Software:
Security file:
The HGL Software will install into “C:\HGL Software.” In this folder you will need to set up the Security file for the user name and password to be used. Go to C:\HGL Software folder and launch SecurityAdministration.exe

Enter the username and password of the computer account being used then click “Apply.”

Launch HGL Software:
To launch the HGL Software go to C:\HGL Software and launch HGLSystemManager.exe.

This will launch all HGL Services, however it may take a moment. The following username and password are set up if you would prefer to change that setting.
Username: Administrator
Password: admin
Using Virtual Acquisition Device:

The Virtual Acquisition Device (above) will auto-launch through the HGLSystemManager. Just minimize the HawkGUI application and select the following icon from the list of launch applications.

From here you will be able to define how many channels are streaming to the acquisition software and what type of signal.
Troubleshooting:
If the system is having trouble accessing files on the computer it is possible you will need to change the permissions for certain folders. These two folders would be c:\Config and c:\Data File. The below steps will walk you through sharing the folders.
First, right-click on the c:\Config folder and select “Properties.” Select the “Sharing” tab on the screen and click “Advance Sharing.” Then check “Share this folder” and click on “Permissions.”

Next select “Add,” enter the user name for the computer, and click “Check Names” this should bring up the computer name and user name for the computer.

On the following screen check “Full Control” and then click “OK.” Repeat these steps for the folder c:\Data Files.
