Dragonfly Connectors

The Dragonfly uses a number of multi-pin Fischer connectors for several of the external interfaces. These connectors are robust, provide good quality signals, and in most cases are waterproof with the correct mating connector.

The range of connectors used is illustrated below. 

Dragonfly modules using standard BNC connectors require no special dongles or adapters to be used. Dragonfly modules with 2 or 8 pin Fischer connectors come with the necessary adapters. For 2-pin Fischer, HGL supplies Fischer to BNC adapters. For 8-pin Fischer connectors, HGL supplies two input cables per channel; these provide an AC Voltage / IEPE and bare ends for Strain Gauges.

Careful attention should be paid when plugging in fisher cables, although a connector can only fully seat in its correct slot, cases have been seen where the power cable can short the pens of the LVDS port, causing damage to the Dragonfly Card.
